Sofia Margarita Vergara Vergara was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, July 10, 1972 is an American-Colombian actress and model. She graduated as a bachelor of Marymount Catholic School. Sofia Vergara was discovered by a scout on a beach in the Colombian Caribbean and hired as a model of a Pepsi commercial that was very successful in her native country and launched in the local market as an advertising model and catwalk. It became one of the most requested models in Colombia. She has overcome cancer. At age 28, she had to battle with thyroid cancer. He has a small scar on his neck.

Family tragedy. Her older brother was kidnapped and killed in Colombia. The kid has had problems with drugs.
